All require your university log in but the services are free and you can use them at any time in the day too.

If you prefer learning in person, visit the Careers Space and take part in interactive sessions such as:

  • Improving Your CV – learn how to structure your CV, avoid common mistakes, and tailor it to different roles.
  • Get Experience – discover volunteering, placement, and job opportunities while building transferable skills.

Build Experience Through Volunteering

Volunteering is a fantastic way to gain experience, develop new skills, and enhance your CV. It can also earn you Rise points, which can be recognised on your transcript. Explore opportunities through the Volunteering and Community Engagement Rise pack or find local roles via Manchester Community Central.

Find a Summer Job

A summer job can provide valuable experience and help strengthen your CV. Check out Jobs4Students for flexible on-campus opportunities, including student ambassador and marketing roles, all paid at least the Real Living Wage. You can also browse local opportunities through StudentJob.
