In June 2025, a group of 20 first and second year students from across the department worked together with NHS Tameside and Glossop Trust on a live project. The students worked in teams to provide solutions for improved board reporting processes, alongside networking with NHS staff and finding out more about possible careers in NHS Finance.

This was the first time we had held such a project, and the students worked really well, producing fantastic recommendations, with each team coming up with ideas that NHS Tameside and Glossop wanted to adopt!

The winning student team were invited to the NHS Tameside and Glossop site in September 2025 for a work shadowing day to find out more about working there, and had the change to meet staff members across the finance teams.
