Future Me Week is back at Manchester Met and it’s your chance to pause, reflect, and actively shape your future.
Taking place from Monday 19 January to Friday 23 January, Future Me Week brings together inspiring speakers, practical workshops, and hands‑on experiences designed to help you become career‑ready, confident, and future‑focused.
Whether you know exactly what you want to do after university or are still exploring your options, this week is for you!
What Is Future Me Week?
Future Me Week is part of Manchester Met’s Future Me framework – a personalised student development journey that supports you to build skills, gain experience and reflect on your growth throughout your time at university.
The week is packed with opportunities to:
- Explore career paths and postgraduate options
- Develop transferable skills employers value
- Build confidence and self‑awareness
- Learn how to articulate your experiences in applications and interviews
- Try something new outside your course
Most importantly, Future Me Week encourages you to think beyond your degree and focus on who you want to become, not just what job you want next.
What’s On?
Across the week, students can take part in a wide range of events delivered by academics, employers, alumni, and professional services colleagues.
Highlights include:
- Inspiring talks and panel events with entrepreneurs, graduates and sector professionals
- Practical skills sessions covering areas such as interviews, applications and mindset
- Hands‑on workshops that let you build experience in creative, digital and professional contexts
- Faculty‑specific sessions tailored to your subject area
- Activities supporting wellbeing, resilience and confidence for your future working life
Many sessions are available on campus and online, making it easy to fit events around your timetable and other commitments.
Why Should You Get Involved?
University isn’t just about lectures, deadlines and exams, it’s also about preparing for life beyond graduation. Future Me Week helps you bridge that gap.
By taking part, you can:
- Gain experiences to strengthen your CV and LinkedIn profile
- Identify and reflect on key skills you’re already developing
- Learn how to clearly communicate your strengths to employers
- Discover opportunities you might not have considered before
- Take ownership of your personal and professional development
You don’t need to attend everything. Even one session can spark a new idea, build confidence, or help you take the next step.
