Meeting People
Whether it’s through your course, your accommodation, or by joining a club or society, uni is an awesome place to meet new friends—maybe even your future best mates.

Remember:
Everyone’s in the same boat—feeling nervous, excited, or both. Friendships will happen naturally, and since everyone’s different, just being yourself is the best way to find your people.

  • Don’t miss out on Welcome Week! It’s the perfect time to meet others, have a laugh, and get used to how uni life works—wherever and however you’re studying.

Your Money
You might be new to budgeting, or already have it nailed. Whether you’re living in halls, commuting, or juggling uni with family life, it’s no secret that things can get pricey. But honestly? The experience is 100% worth it.

Your Studies
You’ll be learning from experts, but you’ll also be doing a fair bit on your own. Most courses mix things up with lectures, seminars, hands-on sessions, and tutorials. Some even include placements to give you real-world experience.

Your Time
Your time’s yours to manage, so staying organised will help you keep up with uni work, life outside of studying, and still leave space to enjoy the fun stuff.

If you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to speak up. Chat with a lecturer, a Student Support Officer, or someone from the uni or students’ union. They’re there to help, and sometimes a quick convo can really make a difference.

Diaries, to-do lists, apps—whatever works for you. Use them to plan your day and figure out what needs doing first.
