Founded in 2004 by Matthew Moulding, THG plc, formerly known as The Hut Group, is a British e-commerce retail company with its headquarters located in Manchester, England.

THG has grown to become a global leader in the online retail space, specialising in own-brand and third-party cosmetics and dietary supplements. Some of their recognisable brands include MyProtein, MyVitamins, CultBeauty, LookFantastic, and many more.

Our students had the opportunity to visit their headquarters. The event featured insightful talks from current THG employees, providing a comprehensive overview of the career paths available. Students had the chance to ask questions and engage with professionals from various departments, gaining valuable insights into the company’s operations, culture, and future job opportunities.

One of the highlights of the day had been the mock assessment centre activity, which allowed students to experience firsthand the kind of tasks and challenges they might face during the recruitment process.

Mock assessment days are crucial as they help students prepare their skills, build confidence, and understand what employers are looking for. These activities simulate real-world scenarios, enabling students to practise and refine their abilities in a supportive environment. By participating in mock assessments, students can better prepare for applying for jobs when they are ready to graduate.

Here at MMU within the Finance and Economics department, we aim to give students multiple opportunities to practise their mock assessment skills, so they are prepared for interview.
